Exfoliants are a great way to keep your skin looking bright and acne-free. Depending on the type of exfoliant they either slough off or “unglue” dead skin cells (more on this later) that makes skin look dull and traps acne-causing bacteria.

So I started writing my review of the Belif Creamy Cleansing Foam Moist, but wound up going off on a tangent about the pH of cleansers instead, and why pH is something you should consider when trying a new cleanser. If you want to read my review of the Belif Creamy Cleansing Foam Moist, it’s further down the page, and you can jump to it here.
Toners have gotten a bad rap. I (along with many people I know) grew up with really harsh, astringent toners with a high alcohol content. These toners were meant to aggressively dry out acne to try to get rid of it. Today, we know that this isn’t a good way to deal with acne, and have learned to stay away from high-alcohol toners.
I got this essence in Belif’s Bestsellers On-The-Go kit from Sephora, which is basically a skincare routine in miniature. It has a cleanser, toner, essence, eye cream, and moisturizer, all for $20. The samples are small (they’re all the deluxe sample sizes that you can get for 100 point perks) but if you want to try out a multi-step routine without committing to buying full-size products, this is a convenient set from a consistently good brand.
